We chose this address because of what it used to be: a six-floor former headquarters...
H10 Casa de la Plata is a newly built hotel on Calle del Lagar, a pedestrian street steps from Plaza del Salvador, designed to reference Seville's own architecture rather than copy a historic building outright. The white façade with green wooden shutters and hand-painted entrance tiles sets the tone before guests reach the lobby, where a tiled chimney topped with a large horse-head figure and a front desk displaying original La Cartuja de Sevilla crockery and ornamental silver give the space a playful, postmodern take on the city's own history rather than a generic contemporary finish.
We chose this hotel for the way it handles the tension between being new and feeling Sevillian: a central Andalusian patio built around a tiled pool rather than a plain courtyard, Seville-style tiles and yellow-and-blue tones running through the public spaces, and seventy-three rooms finished in white, black and earthen yellow with leather headboards and ceiling fans. It is H10's second hotel in Seville, part of a Barcelona-based group that specialises in boutique properties rather than mass-market chains, which shows in details like the artworks reinterpreting figures from Seville's history scattered through the public areas.
Calle del Lagar is a pedestrian street a few metres from Plaza del Salvador, in the heart of Seville's historic centre, within easy walking distance of the Giralda, the Royal Alcázar and the Santa Cruz quarter. Traffic restrictions in the surrounding streets keep even the exterior-facing rooms reasonably quiet, a detail unusual for a central Seville address. The location sits close enough to the city's major monuments to make a car unnecessary for the length of a typical stay.

Rooms facing the hotel's inner atrium are the quietest choice, looking down onto the tiled patio pool rather than the street, while exterior rooms benefit from the pedestrian street's own traffic restrictions. The decor runs white, black and earthen yellow throughout, with Seville tiles worked into the bathrooms, leather headboards and ceiling fans that nod to the climate rather than hide from it. Room types span Double, Triple, Junior Suite and Family configurations, giving the hotel more flexibility for groups than most boutique-scale properties nearby.
Magallanes restaurant serves breakfast with tables set directly under the patio, turning the hotel's architectural centrepiece into the daily dining room rather than a decorative backdrop. Outside breakfast hours, the lobby bar and rooftop bar take over, serving light dishes, tapas and cocktails rather than full meals, by design, with the surrounding Casco Antiguo left to handle dinner. The rooftop bar in particular gives the hotel a vantage point over the old town that a ground-floor patio alone couldn't offer.
Cots and extra beds are not guaranteed, with the hotel's own materials inconsistent on availability, so families should confirm directly rather than assume. Pets are not allowed, and the property is entirely non-smoking. As a newer hotel still building its independent review history, it is worth checking current guest feedback against the design details here before booking, particularly for first-time visitors choosing between this and Seville's older boutique addresses.
